Cockatrice Spiral Notebook

Shopping lists, school notes, or poemsthis spiral-bound notebook is a perfect companion for real life or fantasy worlds. The 118-page notebook is adorned with a cockatrice, a two-legged dragon or serpent-like creature with a rooster's head, from an antiquarian book in our Research Library.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, as people were learning about the animals and plants found throughout the world, illustrations of dragons existed in the same pages alongside realistic horses, oxen, snakes, and birds. Earlier writings suggested the existence of these fanciful animals, and those mistaken ideas were simply replicated in these encyclopedic works.

This sturdy notebook has a durable printed front cover and plain back cover.
