A. R. Valentien was an artist of the Arts and Crafts period who first made his name as a decorator at the Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he worked from 1881 to 1905. At Rookwood, he created many beautiful pottery pieces featuring designs from nature, such as flowers and birds, and his signed vases are still sought after by collectors. (more)
